How to Cook Healthy Food Using Simple Recipes

Do you cook most of your own meals, or do you find yourself picking up takeout most of the time? If you, like many people, find yourself heading to the same few takeout places night after night, what is the reason? For some people, it might very well be that they like the food better than their own creations, but for many people it's the convenience factor. Many people will tell you that they don't cook for themselves because it's too complicated and time consuming. Well if you are getting sick of the world of takeout, it might be time to start looking for some nutritious, simple recipes that you can fall back on when you don't have a lot of time or ingredients on your hands. You'll be surprised by how simple cooking can really be.

It is important to remember that cooking your own meals doesn't mean you're obligated to make yourself a huge, seven-course meal with all of the trimmings every single night. You can find simple recipes for many of your favorite dishes. Many people virtually live off of fast food burgers, but there are so many simple recipes for burgers available! With hamburger patties, it might be a good idea to make them in advance and freeze them, but even then you can still use these recipes. A little ground beef, a package of onion soup mix, an egg, and some cracker crumbs are all you need to make delicious, mouth-watering burgers that have way more flavor and substance than the fast food variety. Make the patties on a Sunday afternoon - it will really only take twenty or thirty minutes at most - layer them between wax paper, and freeze them in a freezer bag. When you get home from work, simply throw them on the grill or in a frying pan, and you have a fast, easy dinner.

Another great simple recipe is easy tomato bisque. Mix a can of tomato soup with a quarter cup of soft cream cheese, and mix in some basil, finely chopped onion, or any other seasoning, that you like. Some cream cheese brands make cream cheese with herbs already mixed in, so that makes it even easier! Once you've heated the soup through, sprinkle a little parmesan cheese on top, serve with garlic toast, and you have a hearty meal that took less than twenty minutes to prepare. Who knew that eating well could be so darn easy! With so many simple recipes at your disposal, there is no excuse to be wasting money on fast food and takeout restaurants that you have grown tired of. Takeout every once in a while can be a great treat, but it loses its appeal quickly when you do it all the time. This week, find one simple recipe to try out at home, and you'll see just how easy and enjoyable it can be to prepare your own meals! If you like it, maybe you can try two new recipes next week.
